Photovoltaic system installation project in India
CONTEXT
India's energy sector is one of the most diverse in the world. It uses conventional sources such as coal, natural gas, oil, and nuclear power, and renewable sources such as wind, solar, hydropower, and biomass. The Indian government's goal is to increase clean energy production, so the energy industry is currently undergoing a major transformation. Infrastructure is being renovated and investment is being made in green forms of energy such as wind and solar power.
DESCRIPTION
The “Bundled Solar Photovoltaic Project by ACME” is a large-scale solar photovoltaic power generation project implemented in aggregate through 16 project instances, 15 of which are small-scale and 1 large-scale, with a total installed capacity of 1,107.5 MW.
The installations are spread across five states in India:
• Telangana
• Andhra Pradesh
• Karnataka
• Rajasthan
• Uttarakhand
The project is a step toward supporting the implementation and installation of grid-connected solar renewable energy plants in India. Implementation of the project ensures energy security, diversification of the grid generation mix, and sustainable growth of the power generation sector in India. In addition, the project creates local job opportunities and promotes the adoption of renewable energy in the region.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

BENEFITS
The project aim to:
• reduce greenhouse gas emissions by substituting electricity generated from fossil fuels predominant in the Indian power grid
• to produce sustainable electricity, in a decentralized and distributed manner across the territory
• to promote sustainable development in host territories, reducing environmental impact and creating local economic opportunities.
IMPACTS
Monitoring period from 26/04/2022 to 31/01/2023
• 804 training sessions provided to staff employed at PV sites (517 technical courses, 282 courses on plant monitoring and management, 5 courses on emergency and safety procedures): training was conducted in collaboration with technology providers contributing to the development of professional skills and promoting job inclusion
• 1,728,924.68 MWh: renewable electricity produced
• 8,526,931 tCO₂e: emissions that were not released into the atmosphere as a result of the project.
